BEST DAY EVER!
Well, after all of the injections, poking, prodding, stretching, and other things we are finally done with the fertility treatment. We got the good news today. WE ARE FINALLY PREGNANT!!!!
The whole process has been very interesting in MANY different ways. We've come to know that we both have AWESOME families that care for us and want this for us just as much as we do. People have fasted and prayed for us (without us even knowing about it). Tears have been shed, both sad tears over the years and happy tears and we KNOW that our families love us. Thanks all for your prayers and everything, you really are the best family ever!!! Love you all, and we'll keep you posted about just how many buns we have in the oven!!!

The Puppy
So Lauren and I got a puppy this past week. Its an australian shepherd mixed with some other type of similar dog. She's pretty cute, but has been causing me to teeter near the edge of santity for the past week. Last week I woke up at my usual time of 6 a.m. in order to prepare for a wonderous day at work. I am, needless to say, quite groggy at this hour as well as nearly completely blind until my contacts are inserted. The darkness at this early hour does not help the eyesight either. Well, I pulled my tired body from bed and made my way to the bathroom to shave or do my hair or something...I don't really remember what I do up until I actually become conscious at about 6:30 and most of it is already done. I stepped onto the cold bathroom tile and made my way to the front of the mirror...when what else should greet me on this fabulous day? None other than a nice, cold puddle of puppy pee, which now surrounded my bare feet. The slow brain activity from the early hour aided in lengthening my realizing what the wet substance I was standing in actually was. A rage of anger swept through me, though I had to keep it in...festering...so as to not wake my beautiful wife who lay slumbering. My optimism was apparent as I decided at that moment that the rest of would be crappy...and just for that I was not going to shave. Take that you blasted day. I went to work, the usual, and returned home at 5:30. Lauren had left just before me for a couple hours, so I let the puppy out of its crate and took it outside to do its thing. "Hmmmm, thought I, surely you must relieve yourself after being in that crate? I guess you did before Lauren left because you're not doing anything are you?" She didn't go so I let her back in and saw a delicious looking bone in her crate that she would probably enjoy. I reached in to fetch the item only to feel a warm mud-like substance enfulf two of my fingers. I retracted my hand to see a fantastic looking, strawberry size, poo now wrapped snuggly around those two fingers. Fan-freakin-tastic thought I. I'm sure glad that my sense of smell is so keen so I didn't just throw my hand in that puppy crate blindly....oh wait, I can't smell because of my sinuses. Awesome. Anyone want a puppy?

Hold on tight!
As you all know, we had been waiting for Justin to graduate before we pursued any type of fertility treatment or adoption. Well, the wait is FINALLY over!! I just wanted to let everyone know (and beg for some prayers) that Justin and I are going to do In Vitro. We've already had several appointments and tests with the doctors and everything looks good. We start doing the injections on Thursday and based on our previous fertility treatments and my current hormone levels the doctor has decided that I need to inject quadruple the amount of hormones.....let the roller coaster ride begin! Depending on how my body responds to everything we will be doing the embryo transfer sometime during the first week of March. 10 days later we will know if it was successful or not, so hopefully we'll have some exciting news in the middle of March!!
I'll try to keep everyone updated, but I may become a little like Dr Jeckll and Mr Hyde, so we'll see. So, keep your fingers crossed! Love and miss you all!!

MMM.MMM.GOOD.
I make this cake every year for Jason's birthday and it is the most delicious, moist chocolate cake in the whole world. So I thought I would share the recipe. Just click here...Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake. Then I topped it with a chocolate glaze. This year I did a twist on the recipe and it was divine. Instead of vanilla extract, I used mint. Then I threw a bunch of crushed andes mints on top. SCRUMDIDILIUMPTIOUS!

New Years Resolution
I'm such a loser...i used to check the blog all the time, but when I got done with school I didn't continue using that as an excuse to get away from homework. Now I'll have to use it as an excuse to get away from housework. "Pfffff, that toilet doesn't need cleaned...I've already cleaned it once in the last 6 months."
